Hydrangeas: problems & diagnosis

Hydrangea macrophylla

Hydrangeas are thirsty, shallow-rooted shrubs, so most of their dramatic wilting, browning and flowering failures trace back to water and siting rather than disease. The name even means 'water vessel'. Get the watering and position right and most problems disappear.
